FAQs

Creating a great label starts with smart design choices. VINGO will not alter your design/artwork files. How your artwork is built affects printability. Here are some tips to make sure your labels or stickers look their best when printed:

  1. Start with High-Resolution Artwork: Use vector files such as AI, EPS, or PDF whenever possible. If using images (JPG, PNG, TIFF), ensure at least 300 PPI at final size to avoid blurriness.
  2. Keep Text Readable: Avoid tiny fonts. As a general rule, keep text at least 6 pt or larger and ensure good contrast between text and background.
  3. Use a Safe Zone: Keep important elements at least 1/8" inside the edges to avoid trim loss.
  4. Watch Your Bleed Area: Extend backgrounds/images at least 1/8" past the edge for clean edge-to-edge printing.
  5. Choose Colors Wisely: VINGO prints in CMYK. Screens are RGB; print is CMYK, so some colors (e.g., oranges, purples, neon, very dark tones) may appear different in print. For clear BOPP, ensure colors remain readable on the final container (especially dark contents). On bottles, keep label size within the label panel to avoid lifting/flagging.
  6. Think About Shape: Custom cut shapes can stand out; ensure the layout fits the shape well.
  7. Consider the Material: Uncoated, coated, clear, or metalized affect the final look. Metalized/Clear BOPP often require a white layer to keep colors saturated and not washed out. Refer to white layer guidelines.
  8. Simplify When You Can: Clean, bold designs often reproduce better at small sizes.

We print at high-resolution commercial quality — 800 DPI — to ensure labels and stickers look crisp, clear, and professional. Upload artwork at a minimum of 300 PPI at print size so text and images remain sharp. Extremely high resolutions (e.g., 600 PPI+) are unnecessary and may slow processing without visible quality gains. Don’t be misled by DPI claims alone — equipment quality and operator expertise matter. VINGO pairs top-tier equipment with skilled print specialists for exceptional results.

Absolutely — that’s exactly what VINGO is for. Upload a design, pick premium materials, and choose custom shapes in a few clicks. With low minimums and startup-friendly pricing, it’s easy to launch small-batch or first-retail labels that look professional.

VINGO offers premium materials to fit look, feel, and durability needs:

  • Semi-Gloss Coated Paper: Smooth, slightly shiny, budget-friendly; great general-purpose option; not water-resistant.
  • Clear BOPP (Polypropylene): Transparent, durable, waterproof “no-label” look. Requires white ink/white layer for proper color saturation. Ideal for bottles, jars, and products that show through. See white layer guidelines.
  • Metalized BOPP (Polypropylene): Reflective, foil-like effect enabling customizable metallic colors. Requires white ink/white layer for color strength. Waterproof and eye-catching for premium branding. See white layer guidelines.
  • White BOPP (Polypropylene): Durable, waterproof, bright white pearlescent base; great for clean, vibrant designs.
  • Bright White Felt Uncoated Paper: Premium tactile texture with wet strength; common for wine/spirits/artisanal goods. Recommended for hand application.
  • Estate #8 Uncoated Paper: Refined, soft finish with good durability and wet strength; boutique/premium packaging. Recommended for hand application.

Quick Tip: Start with a standout design — paired with VINGO, any material can look amazing.

  • Matte Lamination: Matte film overlay adds durability and moisture/scuff protection; elegant, understated look.
  • Gloss Lamination: Gloss film overlay increases color pop and shine; strong protection from scratches, water, handling; bold, vibrant finish.
  • Matte Varnish: Clear, non-reflective coating for subtle, muted designs; some scuff/moisture resistance.
  • Gloss Varnish: Clear, reflective coating that boosts vibrancy with a sleek look; protection without lamination thickness.

Quick Tip: Lamination = thicker protection and smooth texture (better for high handling/moisture). Varnish = lighter protection and preserves material feel (good for dry goods/shelf displays).

VINGO provides adhesives tailored to different environments:

  • Permanent Adhesive: General-purpose, secure on clean/dry surfaces (bottles, jars, boxes, packaging) for everyday use.
  • All-Temperature Adhesive: Good room-temp performance with excellent cold-temp adhesion, including corrugated cardboard.

Release liners ensure pressure-sensitive labels dispense properly. The right liner depends on application needs (efficiency, tear resistance, recyclability). For hand application, liner type usually doesn’t matter.

  • 1.2 PET: Durable, hazy-clear polyester film with maximum strength; used for high-speed roll-to-roll dispensing; recyclable.
  • 40# BG: White bleached glassine liner for low-to-medium speed dispensing.
  • 40# SCK: Bleached, calendered kraft with high strength and tear resistance; used mainly for roll-to-roll applications.
